About the Series:
Microsoft is teaming up with education training specialist Tablet Academy to deliver a series of events aimed at supporting school leaders and classroom educators to further embed and benefit from the features provided by Microsoft tools. The focus of these events is to help institutions looking to develop both their in-class delivery and remote programmes.
Reading Progress is a brand new feature in Microsoft Teams designed for educators to support their students in building fluency in their reading.
Tracking students’ progress with reading is often time-consuming and difficult to monitor. Microsoft have built a new Reading Progress features into Microsoft Teams for Education to support students and educators to make this process simpler and more effective in a non-stigmatizing and highly customizable way.
- How a teacher can set up a new Reading Progress task for their students with the relevant options
- How a student can access a reading task, record themselves reading and submit this to the teacher.
- How a teacher can review a student’s work and check their mispronunciations, insertions, self-corrections and repetitions
- How a teacher can see the data for each student over time as well as across the whole class in Class Insights
This session is designed for teachers and teaching assistants who are familiar with the basics of setting assignments in Microsoft Teams.
About your Trainer:
Sam is a former English teacher and head of department, with fifteen years of experience as a teacher and over twenty working in education.
As a senior consultant for Tablet Academy UK, Sam now provides training, consultancy and advice on adoption and best practice for embedding the use of technology for teaching and learning. She also provides training and guidance for non-teaching staff, as well as providing training and adoption support for staff working for local and national government.
Sam can often be found presenting on behalf of Microsoft and is an MIE Expert, MIE Master Trainer and Microsoft Certified Educator.
