About the Series:

This series are conducted within the joint UNESCO IITE – SOU project “Promoting ICT Capacity Building and Open Education in the Era of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies”.

It’s not an understatement to say we’re living in unprecedented times. Almost overnight, a deadly combination of COVID-19, growing social unrest, and economic instability have driven a rapid and largely unscripted refocusing of education around the world. Simultaneously, we stand on the threshold of a bold new era of possibilities – a global technological revolution that is fundamentally transforming the way we live, work, and learn.

This series considers the possibilities and challenges that Artificial Intelligence and other advanced technologies hold for educators, and examines their potential to become education’s new normal. Please join us for a series of five webinars featuring conversations with educational experts, futurists, data scientists, game designers, and sociologists.

Series Host:

Ian Jukes, Ed.D. has been a classroom teacher, a school, district and provincial leader, a writer, an international consultant, a university instructor, keynote speaker, and educational futurist. He has worked with clients in more than 80 countries and made more than 12,000 presentations. To date he has written or co-written more than 30 books and educational series. But first and foremost, Ian is a passionate educator whose focus has consistently been on the compelling need to prepare learners for their future, not our past.

Event Summary:

It’s no longer a question of can we use AI in education, but should we…and if so, under what circumstances? Join us for the fourth of five webinars focused on the integration of AI and other innovations in education. In this webinar, international experts consider the social-emotional realities of using AI to support teaching and learning. This webinar includes a special focus on AI for teacher development.
